Lacrosse Links: Canadians invade, conquer Hawaii

In case the change from fall to winter hasn’t been depressing enough, you can take heart in the fact that some members of the fraternity we call lacrosse got to spend a good chunk of the past month out in sunny Hawaii, where Crease Monkeys took home the title at the Hawaii Invitational.

Why should I care about this fact as an NLL-loving sports fan, you ask? Well, the USA selection left the elite squads looking to fill some holes and – go figure – they reached out to a couple of your favorites to power up. Crease Monkeys alone had Zack Greer, Gavin Prout, Geoff Snider, John Grant Jr., Jordan Hall and Jeff Zywicki.

Somehow I’m less sympathetic to the fact that Greer has to spend his winter in Minnesota, since I know he also hit up Bermuda’s King of the Rock tournament in September…Be cold for a minute dude…

Feel free to check out the photo gallery over at IL’s PhotoZone while you’re at it.

Other than that it’s been a pretty quiet day over here – we’re still running practice check-ins as the final bits of fallball information come trickling out of college campuses – today we’re on Bucknell – and we’ve got a couple of your favorites featured in Man!Ball!’s Tweets of the Week.

Have a good Saturday, everybody.
