Casey Powell and other Orlando post-game interviews, Geoff Snider on MTV, Brooklin Redmen update, plus the links
Inside Lacrosse’s John Jiloty was at Amway Arena last Friday night for the Orlando Titans home opener against the Philadelphia Wings, a dominating 13-8 victory filled with some of the weekend’s best goals, fights and interesting fan interaction. In addition to Casey Powell’s interview above, after the jump, check-out rookie Dan Hardy and returning NLL prospect Dan Cocchi’s post-game comments.
Hardy, one of Insider’s highest ranked American ball players in our pre-draft coverage, had an impressive debut against the Wings. Although Hardy went pointless, the Titans rookie played physical and had some good looseball battles, definitely showing that the rough style of box lacrosse won’t deter him (as it has others) as he continues to develop his indoor game. It was definitely a positive first outing in his pro indoor debut.
And former Colorado Mammoth draft pick out of Towson, Cocchi (35th overall in ‘04 entry draft), currently on the Titans’ practice roster, is pretty pumped about the Titans moving to Orlando.

Fans warm – More positive coverage from the Stealth’s debut in Everett this past weekend, fans left wanting more, even if they were a bit puzzled at times. (Everett Herald)
Redmen fine? – With only four wins during the entire summer of ‘09, the departure of respected coach Peter Vipond earlier this year, and not a whole lot else going on for the Brooklin Redmen, GM Wayne Colley feels the one time envied organization is in good shape. “I’m not going to throw stones at anybody, I just don’t believe in the structure of the organization.” – Vipond (Durham Region News)
