NLL Insider has confirmed with Colorado Mammoth President, GM and interim head coach Steve Govett that Colorado has picked up a pair of former Mammoth players, trading for goaltender Chris Levis from the Calgary Roughnecks, and signing free agent vet Chris Gill.
The Mammoth sent a second round 2011 entry draft pick to Calgary, who themselves traded for keeper Mike Poulin yesterday, in exchange for Levis, who was released by the Edmonton Rush during the off-season, later signed by the Roughnecks due to the absence of Pat Campbell.
Levis had previously spent the the ‘07 and ‘08 season with the Mammoth before signing with the Rush.
Former multiple Champion’s Cup winner Chris Gill, who appeared in his second consecutive Mann Cup with the New Westminster Salmonbellies this past summer, will be joining the Mammoth for his third separate stretch, playing a vital role for the franchise during their ‘06 Champion’s Cup season.
Both transactions are expected to be announced officially later today.
