Best flow in the National Lacrosse League? It’s Josh Funk vs. Paul Rabil

It's the deflownition of flow.
No contest, really. Paul Dawson of the Boston Blazers cruises past Ryan McNish of the Edmonton Rush in last week’s matchup of who’s rockin’ the best flow in the National Lacrosse League. Easy to see why, too. McNish has the style, no doubt, but Dawson’s got the length and that pretty much seals the deal. So now it’s on to our third matchup of the season and that brings us Josh Funk of the Minnesota Swarm and Paul Rabil of the Washington Stealth. The Swarm might be chasing down the Stealth in the West, but how is the flow of Funk gonna stand up to the flow of Rabil?

Paul Rabil
Rabil’s rockin’ the look, no doubt about it. It’s been a full year and then some since he emerged with the Stealth after missing the first few games of last season. At that time, nary a thread of hair could be seen creeping out from behind the lid but today, Rabil’s got it goin’ on. Serious is the flow that cascades from the transition man, to the point where it’s effective enough to make one stop and stare. Is that how he burns defenders? Are they so awed by the hair that they just stand there and respect? So solid is the flow it makes us wonder if h eeven needs a helmet. NLL rules say ya do, so you know the dude’s only wearing the bucket ’cause it’s required, not because he needs the protection. His game knows no fear, so why should the flow?

Josh Funk
As for Funk, come on. It’s a perfect fit. With a name like that, you gotta represent and Funk’s got the funk in full effect with his lettuce. Even our own Ty Pilson earlier this season called it out as the best handle in the NLL. He may not get the pub that Rabil gets, but as far as we’re concerned, the Spicoli look makes us wonder if he really is from Maryland. Isn’t Ridgemont High, ya know, the place of all the fast times, in California? No worries. ‘Cause you just know that Funk’s dad is a TV repairman with this ultimate set of tools. Right?
