Back is action is the best way to describe what’s up for the National Lacrosse League after having just 2 games to watch last weekend. All 11 teams are back on the floor, which includes a massive matchup out West between the Calgary Roughnecks and the Washington Stealth. The winner has first place all itself and the Riggers enter the home contest as winners of 4 straight. The Stealth have lost 3 straight so you can bet there’s gonna be some hungry lacrosse out there. We could have a new leader in the East when the weekend’s all said and done, too, and Buffalo’s Darris Kilgour could very well make NLL history. Lots to track, so let’s start with reports on each squad.

Boston Blazers (5-4) East Division

Last week: Bye.

“Buffalo has been struggling, but they’re a dangerous team,” said Ryan. “And whenever you have a team that’s had varying performances like the Bandits, you have to assume you’re facing a team that’s firing on all cylinders. You have to be prepared for their best game.”

But he practiced (Tuesday) night and he’ll be fine … D Chris Corbeil is a different story. He’s out at least 3 weeks with a lower body injury. Look for increased defensive roles for Brett Bucktooth and Jon Harasym and, maybe even John Tavares. “He played most of the fourth quarter out the back door for us on Satuday,” Jacobs said.

“I would say that it was,” Jacobs said when asked if Saturday was a season-saving win. “We showed some confidence and had a realization of how well we can play and how bad we’ve been in the past. The season is still on the line for us… time’s running out but we still have an opportunity.”
