ILF 2008 U-19 World Games: Germany first in Red Division

Germany moved into first-place in Red Division with a 15-7 win over Bermuda on Saturday.

“I think people are pretty amazed,” said Germany head coach John Pirie of his team’s undefeated start.

“We came here as a country that had never won a game at the international U19 level. Realistically we hoped to come here and win a game. To find ourselves on top of the heap at 3-0 after three days is pretty much a dream come true for these kids.” READ MORE »


ILF 2008 U-19 World Games: A lot of lacrosse

The first day of the U19 Worlds was pretty sweat, and a lot of lacrosse. Games all week start in the morning at 9:30am and run as late as 10pm; Canada plays England today with an 8:00pm PST start.

All the elite Blue Division teams are playing on the main field at the turf fields of the city of Coquitlam; to the left from the main stands are two additional fields where games are also played. Just outside of the main stadium there is also a youth tournament going on for U-18, and U-15s.
